These terms govern your use of this website and any purchase you make from PX Scientific Goods (“we”, “us”). By placing an order you accept them. Please read the section on intended use — it is the one that matters most.
1. Who we are
PX Scientific Goods is a distributor of laboratory glassware, consumables and benchtop equipment, operating from 11 Douglas Ave, Suite 253 #1184, Elgin, IL 60120. You can reach us at support@pxscientificgoods.store during Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Central Time.
2. Intended use of the goods
Everything we sell is general laboratory equipment intended for research, teaching, quality control and light industrial use by people competent to use it. Nothing we sell is a medical device, a diagnostic, a pharmaceutical or a food-contact article, and nothing we sell is intended for human or veterinary therapeutic use.
You are responsible for deciding whether an item is fit for your particular application, for the conditions under which you use it, and for compliance with the health-and-safety rules of your institution and jurisdiction. Glass breaks, instruments fail, and reagents behave differently in different hands. We describe our goods accurately; we cannot supervise their use.
3. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract forms when we send a dispatch confirmation, not when you receive an order acknowledgement. We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch — for example where an item is mispriced, where stock is exhausted, where we cannot verify the billing or delivery details, or where an order appears fraudulent. If we cancel and you have already been charged, we refund in full.
4. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in United States dollars and exclude shipping, which is calculated at checkout. We take reasonable care with pricing, but if an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price we will contact you before dispatch and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Payment is taken at the time of order through our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number; card details are entered directly into the provider’s secure form. Your statement will show our trading name.
5. Availability and substitution
Stock figures are kept current but are not a guarantee. If an item is unavailable after you order, we contact you within one business day with the real lead time and offer to wait, substitute or cancel that line. We never substitute a different specification without your explicit agreement.
6. Delivery and risk
Delivery timescales are estimates. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address you supplied. Title passes when we have received payment in full. Our shipping policy forms part of these terms and sets out carriers, timescales, and how we handle damage, loss and shortages.
7. Returns and cancellation
Our refund and returns policy forms part of these terms. In summary: unused goods in original packaging may be returned within thirty days; goods that arrive damaged or incorrect are put right at our cost; and certain items are non-returnable once opened for hygiene or contamination-control reasons. The policy sets out the detail and the exceptions.
8. Warranty
We warrant that goods will match their description and be free from manufacturing defect at the point of delivery. Equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty where one is offered, and we will administer a warranty claim on your behalf.
Beyond that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, goods are supplied without further warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. This does not affect statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
Our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for the goods giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost experimental work, lost samples, lost time, lost data or lost profit — however arising. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Acceptable use of this site
You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site, interfere with its operation, scrape it systematically, or use it to transmit unlawful material. Site content, including product descriptions and photography, belongs to us and may not be reproduced commercially without written permission.
11. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It forms part of these terms.
12. Changes
We may amend these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. Material changes are reflected in the “last updated” date above.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and the courts of Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in force.
