Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

This policy explains what personal information PX Scientific Goods collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do about it. We have written it to be read, not to be survived.

Who is responsible

PX Scientific Goods, 11 Douglas Ave, Suite 253 #1184, Elgin, IL 60120, is responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to support@pxscientificgoods.store.

What we collect

Information you give us. Your name, the organisation you order for, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address. If you contact us, we keep the correspondence so the next person to pick up your query can see what was already said.

Payment information. Card details are entered directly into our payment provider’s secure form and are processed by them. We do not receive or store your full card number. We retain only the outcome of the transaction, the last four digits, the card type and the amount, which is what we need to reconcile an order and handle a refund or dispute.

Information collected automatically. Standard web-server records — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps — used to keep the site working and secure, and to understand which pages people actually use.

Why we use it

To take, pick, dispatch and invoice your order. To provide tracking and to resolve delivery problems with the carrier. To answer questions and honour warranties and returns. To keep the accounting and tax records we are legally required to keep. To detect and prevent fraudulent orders. And, only if you have opted in, to send occasional product or restocking emails, which you can stop at any time using the link in every message.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build profiles of you for third parties.

Who we share it with

Only the parties needed to complete what you asked for: our payment provider, in order to take the payment; our shipping carriers, in order to deliver the parcel; and our IT and email service providers, who host the systems the business runs on. Each is bound to use the data only for the service they provide to us. We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years, which is the retention period our tax and accounting obligations require. Correspondence is kept for three years. Marketing consent records are kept for as long as you remain subscribed and for two years afterwards, so that we can show when and how you opted in and out. Web-server logs are kept for ninety days.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete data we no longer need, object to a particular use, or ask us to stop sending marketing. Write to support@pxscientificgoods.store and we will respond within thirty days. If you are a California resident you have the additional rights to know, to delete and to opt out of any sale of personal information — we do not sell personal information, and exercising these rights will never result in worse service or pricing.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function — keeping you signed in and keeping your basket intact between pages — and a small number of analytics cookies that tell us which pages are used. You can block cookies in your browser; the basket and sign-in will not work without the necessary ones.

Security

The site is served over TLS. Access to order data is limited to staff who need it. Payment card data does not pass through our systems. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise: if a breach affects your personal data we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

Where your data is held

Our website, order database and email systems are hosted in data centres in the United States. Our payment provider and carriers process data in the United States. We do not transfer personal data outside the United States except where a carrier needs it to complete an international delivery, which we do not currently offer.

Automated decisions

We run automated fraud checks on orders — for example comparing billing and delivery details and flagging unusual ordering patterns. A flagged order is reviewed by a person before anything is refused, and no order is cancelled by an automated system alone. If your order is declined and you believe that is wrong, write to us and a human will look at it.

If you do not give us data

Name, address and email are required to fulfil an order — without them we cannot ship or contact you about a problem. A telephone number is optional but genuinely useful, because carriers resolve delivery exceptions far faster when they can call the recipient. Marketing consent is entirely optional and refusing it changes nothing about your order or pricing.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, tell us first at support@pxscientificgoods.store — most issues are a misunderstanding we can fix quickly. If you remain dissatisfied you are entitled to complain to your state Attorney General’s office or the Federal Trade Commission, and we will co-operate fully with any enquiry.

Children

This site is intended for professional and institutional purchasers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under sixteen.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where the change affects how we use data you have already given us, tell you directly.
